Ukambani Kayatta Mini Crusade 2nd – 7th February 2010

Kayatta is a small village of close to 800 or 1000 people, and is a place of dry river beds. Just as the rain fell unexpectedly, so too did the rivers to flow once again. The Gospel message also triggered a flow of people to the field, where about half the village came to hear the good news. It was amazing to see young and old alike making a full surrender to Jesus Christ. The morning seminars stirred up the body of Christ to get busy and do the work of an evangelist. YES mini crusades can and do work! This was a good test to iron out any logistical and technical problems before we head out into far away remote places.
We now focus our attention on The Republic of Congo. The planning is well underway and our technical team flies out on 18th February to Brazzaville in order to set up in Loutėtė. We have been in correspondence with Michael Mogga our good friend from Southern Sudan. Provisional dates have been set for four major city-wide meetings. Please remember us in PRAYER
William Booth of the Salvation Army sent out his famous one word greeting that simply read “Others”, which best describes our heart. We give our all so that “Others” can hear and come to know Jesus Christ personally.
Thank you for you love and support,
Roger and Shireen West
John 10:16 I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd.

RunyenJes A village on the slopes of Mount Kenya. 2nd -6th December

Luke 8:5 A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.
In the parable of the sower we read no reference to any rebuke for sowing on ground that was not 100% prepared. We are to sow the seed of the gospel open-handedly.
When we were in Sudan years ago it was remarkable to go to villages where early missionaries had sowed. I might add some sowed without seeing many results. But 80 years later, when we arrived we found the spiritual atmosphere open and receptive. There was a stark contrast when we went to areas that had had no missionary or Christian witness, there was not nearly as much response to the Gospel.
I planted the seed, Apollos watered the plants, but God made you grow. It's not the one who plants or the one who waters who is at the centre of this process but God, who makes things grow. 1 Corinthians 3:6&7
Runyenjes 2nd – 6th December was a time of sowing the precious seed. Disorder among leaders greatly affected the meetings. However there was a remnant who had pure hearts. Grieved at the situation, I decided to press on, no matter what. After all, it was not a matter of me looking good, it was a matter of reaching this town with the Gospel.
Slowly, the Lord began to work. A business man was touched by the Lord and the next day sent 20 of his workers to the morning seminar; all of them were obviously not Christians. That night, he again sent 20 of his workers to the open air evangelism. The wonderful melting power of the Holy Spirit started touching the hardest hearts and turned them to Jesus.
We had noticed a group of about 30 street-boys playing cards and gambling on the side of the field. Several times, as I was preaching, I addressed them as my VIPs. Our heart went out to these boys, and on Saturday, Shireen arranged a time with them and invited them for a coke and bread. She was able to share the love of Jesus and pray with all of them. They will be our main helpers to pack up on Monday.
Although the meetings were small, they have stirred up the body of Christ in Runyenjes to come up higher and walk closer to the Lord. The Lord was giving new strength to the faithful to keep on and not give up. One pastor told us how he had stopped doing open air meetings simply because not a single person would attend! Prayer meetings in the past were packed to capacity, now only 1 or 2 would attend. Several of the leaders shared with us how they have felt a desire to return to prayer.
Oh how I wish I could tell you that the entire town was saved. However, I cannot. What I can tell you is that there were recorded 400 decisions for the Lord and there is now a group of believers and fired up by the Holy Spirit. The precious seed of the Gospel was planted and there will be a harvest of souls for the Lord Jesus.
Our love and thanks to everyone who has prayed for us. The future of Kenya is in the hands of the praying saints.

Chuka 18th - 22nd November

On the final night, as we began to pray for the sick towards the end of the meeting, a very gentle rain began to fall and everyone present could feel the drops. To me, it was a picture of what the Lord had been doing. One dear brother testified that he had heard reports of how people had experienced God’s power in a very tangible way on the field and then went home, and then, to their surprise, experienced His power just as strong in their own home. On Sunday night, as we left the stadium to return to the hotel, it began to rain heavily and continued throughout most of the night. This is a parallel of what we want to see in the spirit. The rain continuing after we leave.
The Lord began to challenge the local leaders to begin meeting together and praying together. I am convinced that there is a genuine hunger for a move of God in Chuka. I believe that these meetings served as a catalyst. Something has begun in Chuka. There were many deep conversions as people came to the altar with tears flowing down their cheeks. On Saturday night the presence of God fell baptising many into the Holy Spirit. One young couple were overjoyed as the husband spoke in tongues for the first time.

The warmth and welcome of the Kenyan people, is almost impossible to match anywhere in the world. A long way before the entrance to the city over 25 pastors met us in their cars and then escorted us through the city while thousands lined the streets waving and smiling. As we drove passed a busy market my heart was touched as the many mamas started cheering with the typical “kililele” and waving with a big smile shouting karibu karibu to Maua. Many remembered the 2007 meetings saying welcome back.

The city stadium is right next door to the government offices and we made a courtesy visit to the District Commissioner, a wonderful born again Christian. We later were honoured as he came to the evening banquet bringing his three children. It was significant to have the head of the police the judiciary, the mayor and many other important offices present at the banquet.
The next morning we began the seminars. The theme was “Pathway to the Glory”. We all want the fire of God in our lives it was a simple clear message. Fire falls on an altar that has a sacrifice on it. What is the sacrifice that God sends His fire on? “SELF” We have to put self on the altar. Selfish people are not used by the Lord. Selfish people do not think of others only themselves. Selfish people have selfish ambitions. James 3:16 For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice. God anoints those that live to serve others. If we want to be great in Gods kingdom we have to serve others. The Word of God was well received.
The meetings however were not without opposition. Someone filed a court order to stop the meetings. Some of the committee rushed to the relevant offices and came back smiling that it had been quashed and we were able to continue with the gospel preaching in the stadium.
Day One of the crusade started with a good turnout of about 3000 people. I spoke on the Lord cleansing His temple and turning over the tables of the money changers. The question was asked, “was there a day Jesus came to your temple, to your life and cleaned it out and drove out all evil. If not then I doubt you understood the Gospel”. The entire crowd knelt down of the field rededicating their lives to the Lord, asking the Lord to cleanse them from every sinful habit they had allowed in their lives. Then I made a call for those who had never ever asked the Lord into their lives. I said, “no 50 % commitment, if you are only prepared to make a 50% commitment stay where you are, but if you are willing to give 100% commitment to the Lord COME”. What a joy to see streams of men come forward and teenage and older boys, women and girls as well. The Lord had truly touched hearts and there was a genuine turning from darkness to light.
How shall they get saved if they cannot hear the Word of God? It all begins with someone preaching to them. While I was preaching the intercessors led by Shireen were interceding. Every day a company of prayer warriors gathered behind the stage and prayed the people into the kingdom. They were such a dedicated team. They prayed down the glory and the presence of the Lord and it was tangible each evening. It was so glorious.
On Friday night after a powerful time of worship, we prayed for the nation and for the much needed rain for the country. The Pastors Fellowship organised this crusade for us. They were the most wonderful team of brothers that we worked with. They got all the publicity done and the training of the counsellors and praise and worship teams. It was a great encouragement for us all to see the evangelists and the pastors working together to win the city. We love them and will visit them again next year.
On Saturday morning on one side of town was a woman’s meeting with Shireen, and on another side a men’s meeting with me. I have seldom felt the tangible presence of God so strong in a meeting. The Spirit of God touched and ministered.
On the Saturday evening a riot took place on the hill side next to stadium. However the riot did not stop the meeting and I preached a clear salvation message and saw many of the young men that were just standing around lift their hands and surrender their lives to Jesus.
As part of our morning seminar we showed some powerful teachings on DVDs. The response was overwhelming from the Pastors, there was such a tremendous hunger for good teaching. Monthly we will now send teachings to the Pastors Fellowship so they can build up material for a good teaching library.
On Sunday night at about 11 pm it began to rain over the city. The first in 3 months. The people saw this as a sign and a wonder. Both physical and spiritual rain is falling over Kenya. Africa is being saved.

Kagio 13th - 17th May 2009

Romans 16:25 Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel, and the proclaiming of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery having been kept unvoiced during eternal times.
When the Gospel is kept unvoiced no one is strengthened and no one is established. We must plainly make known the truth to all people and then they will know, they will believe and they will be saved.
The meetings in Kagio started off small but by the end of the week we had the biggest crowd the town had ever seen. People are hungry for the truth of God’s Word.
In Kagio it was wonderful to see how the Eternal Word brought HOPE and strengthened people. We spent each morning teaching the Pastors about Revival and speaking about the Awakening for Kenya.
The Chairman of the Pastors Fellowshiptold us how on the Sunday morning in his church they experienced God’s presence and a move of the Spirit, so powerful. “They could not remember God moving like this for a long time” he said
On Sunday afternoonthere was a wonderful presence of God as I gave the altar call. We all could sense the very real presence of God upon us. I was so blessed to see almost every hand shoot up in response to the Gospel. I led the huge congregation in prayer and as we said Amen it gently began to rain.
We are praying for spiritual rain to fall across the country. One thing will save Kenya and it is an awakening to God on a national scale. We believe for it, we pray for it and we are going to see it.

Muranga 18th – 22nd March.

God drew people from across the city. Saturday was Holy Spirit Day, and I preached with boldness and utterance. God confirmed His word with a wonderful outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Afterwards, one of the participating Pastors exclaimed, “I saw it with my own eyes. I heard it with my own ears – they started talking in tongues!” He was so excited. As the crowd began to speak in tongues, we went on to pray strong, powerful prayers over Muranga town. Several of the leaders came forward and prayed, as the whole crowd turned and stretched their hands towards the area over which we were praying. As our cook was bringing the team’s supper to the Stadium, she was walking through the town, and later, she told us that she had heard the sound of the prayer right in the centre of the town. It was as if something was shaking the whole town! We closed on Sunday with nearly 3,000 in attendance. On that Sunday morning, some churches reported, with great excitement, how new converts had come into their services.
Surely, the Lord has started something in Muranga – a desire for nothing less than a full‑blown awakening, in which every Church is full, not only of people, but also of the Glory of God.

Nyandusi Stadium 24th February - 1st March 2009

We are in a village called Nyanturago in South Western Kenya having
wonderful meetings! It's like the tent revivals again with a powerful
presence of God. The fire of God fell Saturday evening, some having
visions and hundreds spoke in tongues for the first time. We laid hands
on a thousand villagers for the Baptism into the Holy Spirit. The
village is spread out over the surrounding hills with about 5000 people.
Last night we had about 3500 attend! Two drunkards came late one night
this week and our technicians led them to the Lord.
The talk of the village is what happened Thursday night. Storm clouds
were gathering around us and we were praying for the rain to go.
Suddenly there was like a whirlwind such as we had to hold onto
something. It blew so hard we thought the loudspeakers would fall down.
Then it stopped and then the rain went in the other direction. Some said
they saw fire in the whirlwind. The villagers told us that was God in
his mighty power blowing away the clouds. They said that has never
happened before in the place. Signs and wonders Praise His Name.
We have seldom experienced such an outpouring. It's like something new
is happening again! Oh God is so Good! We are pressing in for an
awakening and Holy Ghost revival for Kenya.

Kisumu Vosh Conference 19th -24th August 2008
Kisumu City Crusade with Bishop Silas Owiti

Garissa Kenya 20th - 25th February 2007.

In 1963 there was a major border dispute between Somali and Kenya. We were told that Garissa was once in Somali. Today Somalia is associated with drought and war, suffering and starvation. In January of 2007 the US carried out air strikes supposedly targeting al-Qaeda personal hiding in Southern Somalia. Surely it would be impossible to preach an open air Gospel meeting in Somalia – The next best thing then is to preach in Garissa a town full of Somali people.
A time to Sow The seed of the Gospel went out night after night without any incident of violence. Many folk too afraid to attend the meetings hid in the thick bush surrounding the site and listened. The powerful sound also carried far into many homes. We may not have seen the town turn out in mass but I believe with all my heart that a great harvest will result in the future. The seed has been sown and The gospel will make a difference and will never return void.
Practical Help to the suffering Food that was kindly supplied by New life Mission Norway, was distributed to a kindergarten and an orphanage. The pastors shared with us that many church families were struggling so we were able to supply sacks of rice to each church to distribute to needy families. Thank you for your kindness shown to the people of Garissa.
Pastors Seminars “Greatly encouraged” was a phrase we heard over and over. Several testified how they were worn out and about to give up due to the harsh conditions. But God imparted courage and strength. All the leaders testify how the Lord lifted them. Many men and woman called to the town are more determined than ever to pray and keep on working till they see a change. Several partners gave books and literature that we were able to give out to the leaders which was a further encouragement.
Maua Kenya 15th -20th May 2007.

On Sunday people marvelled how the Lord had drawn a huge crowd of people. The Love of God had won the hearts of the people. Many marvelled and told us how they thought we would tell them how wrong Miraa was, but because we just preached the love of Jesus, hearts softened and opened up and approximately 15,000 called on Jesus although the counsellors were only able to register just over 2700. Each one that responded received a follow-up book that was filled in creating a link between them and the local church.
On the Sunday closing service it seemed that everyone wanted to testify what the Lord had done for them. A young boy told us how his uncle had slapped him resulting in one ear going deaf. He had suffered from this for several years but while standing in the crowd the Lord touched his ear. It popped open and his hearing was completely restored.
One lady was completely healed of lumps in her breast, a man suffering with stomach cancer testified how he could no longer feel the growth and the pain had gone.
A young girl Anastase just passing by the stadium heard the Gospel and decided to stay and listen she was gloriously saved. One man 43 years old came up very moved. He told us how his father was a pastor and all these years he had been resisting Jesus and that today he decided to surrender his life to the Lord

Migori Kenya 2nd – 7th October 2007.

We have just arrived back in Nairobi after 6 days of wonderful Gospel meetings. This Gospel of the Kingdom is changing lives. A dear old lady who had suffered with locked joints in her fingers could not freely open and close her hand. She indicated that her hand had been closed in a fist for 3 years. As the Gospel of the Kingdom was preached, she believed and suddenly her hand loosened up and she was completely free. She opened and closed her hand without any difficulty smiling from ear tot ear.
A man with mental problems had tried everything to find relief. Somehow he had managed to get to Germany to a hospital for treatment but nothing had helped him. He came back to Kenya in the same condition. When he heard the Gospel of the Kingdom the power of God touched him and his mind suddenly became clear. He came to testify overwhelmed with joy for what the Lord had done for him he was now in his right mind all madness had gone! We rejoice at 2875 registered decisions which were distributed to the 47 participating Churches that means that each church could grow by 60 people!
Our team packed up last night and is already on the road to Bungoma the next city targeted to proclaim the Gospel. The trainings will begin from tomorrow. We thank you all for your prayer and partnership with us, lives are being impacted and changed. Heaven rejoices over each decision to follow Jesus.

Bungoma Kenya 23rd -27th October 2007.

Bungoma 1882 decisions were recorded and distributed to the participating churches. The Follow up is working very well. Books are valuable and treasured in Africa and will certainly be read over and over again. After the 3 day Fire conference we gave out hundreds of books to the leaders. It is one of our goals to get more material into the hands of the leaders.
The Gospel message is full of the power of Gods life giving spirit. When proclaimed it breaks the terrible power of sin that leads to death. Multitudes have been translated from darkness to light. The ZOE life that flows lifts people to live with a hope and a future. The Gospel brings blessing. Romans 15:29 But I know that when I come to you, I shall come in the fullness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ.
Blessing in the whole man Body Soul and Spirit.
The next generation of youth came back night after night. It was truly remarkable to see such large numbers of youth responding to the Gospel message. It was a Holy Moment on Saturday when literally thousands of Children were baptized into the Holy Spirit.
The Gospel is recalibrating whole communities. Thank you for helping us to reach out with the abundant blessing of the Gospel of Christ. Together we are making an eternal difference.
Yours in Christ,
Roger & Shireen.

Ndumberi - Kenya 5th - 10th December 2006.
Romans 16:20 And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
The impact of this Gospel Crusade has been wonderful. Satan is the eternal looser and certainly irreparable damage was done to his Kingdom. The week before the Crusade it seemed like a mini el Nino had set in. Torrential rain continued to fall threatening the crusade. But the Lord graced us. Not a single meeting was washed out. On one specific night as I was preaching I felt a cold wind, then drops began to fall! People began leaving, and I had hardly started preaching! Faith arose and I prayed publicly and asked the Lord to hold back the rain. A peace settled on the crowd, the rain immediately stopped and we were able to finish the meeting at our leisure. It was evident that God had held the rain back.
People crushed by breast cancer, paralysed limbs, and blind eyes were instantly healed as the Lord touched them and instantly restored health.
People flooded into the open field on the final Sunday, I am told that the entire village was deserted on the Sunday afternoon as 20,000 people were on the field listening to the Gospel.
Each night hands shot up for the call of salvation. The counsellors were able to register 904 decisions. However it seemed like each night most of the crowd prayed the salvation prayer. Only heaven has the figures. One thing for sure is that heaven is rejoicing!
Unity
One of the outstanding marks of the crusade was the unity among the wide spectrum of churches. Baptists, Anglicans and Pentecostals all came together for the sake of the lost. The Kiambu Pastors Fellowship was strengthened and greatly encouraged.
Friends visit
We were blessed to have many of our friends come and visit the Ndumberi crusade. The Lord miraculously protected one of our visitors and his family. They were driving home from the crusade one night when a gang rammed their car and jumped out with an automatic rifle to rob them. The Lord helped them to remain calm and drive away without a single shot being fired. We are thankful for His protection.
Team and new equipment all worked well
The RFM team is dedicated to the evangelistic call to take the Gospel to the nations of Africa. The fields are ripe and we have much work to do in 2007. Already one of our team is in the North of Kenya planning next year’s meetings. This crusade also served to train and give the team experience in running and rigging the new equipment. All went very well technically.
Thank you for all of your kind help this year and for your prayers. God bless you, together with Heaven we are rejoicing at every single person that has come into the Kingdom.
Yours on the ripe harvest fields,
Roger and Shireen West and the RFM Team
Kangema 15th –20th April 2003.
April is the official beginning of the heavy rains in Mount Kenya area, yet we felt to go ahead with our first major open air crusade using our new set-up. Not a single meeting was lost the rain held off until 9pm each night as we closed the meetings then poured down all night!
Increase always of God.
After the technical set-up I stood on the new stage and looked across the vast field. The thought came what if only a handful of people come! It wasn’t hard to distinguish that that was not God.
The crowd built up every day ending with a peak on Sunday the Pastors fellowship were so excited it was the biggest crowd they had ever had in Kangema for a meeting. God had been faithful to fill the space we provided for him.
Kangema meetings opened our eyes to the possibilities in God. They also highlighted our complete reliance upon Him. This is now far bigger than us; God has launched us into a new level.
Blind in one eye, deaf in one ear, and unable to walk without the aid of a stick.
What a mighty miracle! The crowd went wild as this old man waved his hand in response that he could now see. He had been blind for 18 months! Jesus opens blind eyes. Now one of the pastors talks into the deaf ear. He repeats what is says without any problem. Then he marches and jumps and runs up and down the platform joy beaming from his face. The crowd all waved umbrellas, branches, and handkerchiefs dancing and praised the Lord.
Salvation every night.
The Gospel literally rang out clearly across the whole town; our powerful new sound system ensured that. I looked across the field to the top of the hill where I knew there was a bar. During the preaching the bar emptied and crowds stood outside listing to the word of God. People could bee seen on rooftops and balconies listing to the Word of God. The best thing to do was to tell the vast crowd to pray the prayer of salvation right where they stand.
Victory was sweet but now there are other places that need the Gospel also. Our preparation and Intercession team leave for Bukavu Congo on next Friday. We need help like never before. Deadlines are coming up in just a few days. Postponing the meetings is not an option, cancelling is unthinkable. Please help us by going the second and third mile. The Gospel must be preached, and people must be saved.
Isiolo 8th -20th January 2002.

Isiolo Report 8th January - 20th January 2002 The Word of God, says, "WITH God all things are possible", that is, possible to US. It says" WITH God", not TO God. All things are possible when we work with Him and carry out
His will. He does nothing in this world without us. It is co-operative labour.
When the Lord was on earth the methods He used to reach the multitudes were preaching, teaching and healing the sick. Those methods are still the methods we use today because Jesus is the same yesterday today and forever.
In the history of RFM we have never seen so many miracles. Because of what the Lord was doing people were coming from 500 km away at the Ethiopia border for prayer because they heard that Jesus was healing the sick in Isiolo. A lady with a goitre was completely healed. A medical nurse in the local hospital told her to lay her hand on the goitre when Brother Roger said the prayer for the sick. She did that and when he looked again it had gone and he rushed her to the platform to testify. The wife of the Anglican Priest was healed of a longstanding ladies problem. Many demons came out of people with loud screams. As the anointing fell for healing many demons manifested but the Pastors in charge of deliverance commanded them to go and they were set free. It was so wonderful to hear the testimony of one boy who had been in the children’s meeting who had been bound by a demon spirit and was throwing him uncontrollably around on the floor. After several moments of casting this demon out he was free and also healed of asthma at the same time. When we saw him in the night meeting he was a completely different looking child. Jesus said we shall cast out demons and that is what we did. Glory to God.
There was a wonderful unity among the Pastors in Isiolo. Over 25 churches stood together with us from all different denominations, the Pentecostals, Anglicans, Methodist and Africa Inland Churches. They testified that history was being made in Isiolo and the unity was being strengthened. We are so grateful for these men of God, we could not hold these meetings without them. They helped with every detail, down to electricity connections, transport and food etc and every night took up a love offering for us for the Mission to Sudan.
Not only were the Christian Leaders supportive but also so were the Moslem Leaders. On the first day the Somali Chief of the town came to the tent to meet us. I asked him what we could pray for in Isiolo and he said “Peace”. We told him Jesus was the Prince of Peace and he listened carefully. Many Moslems came to the meetings. They took off their hats and scarves and sat listening every night. One distinguished family arrived in a car with a sick father and ask Roger to pray for him. On the last day one of the Pastors told us that one of the most fundamental Moslem Leaders in the town was sitting quietly in the tent. Roger was preaching about the power of the blood of Jesus and no matter what sin you have committed the blood of Jesus washes it away. They told us he had tears in his eyes, I believe with all my heart that the Holy Spirit drew him to the tent to sow the message of the love of God in his heart.
